Mass Start 8:00 p.m.
It was a clear, chilly, moonless night for hardy orienteers. Over 90 people donned extra clothes and headlamps to run on the dark, water-logged trails slickened by fallen leaves. Of 670 total points possible, Fred Steinberg and Beth Wilson scored the highest on the short course. Ted Cahalane beat out Gary Snyder for first place on the long course for individuals because he didn’t have any penalty points. Ten points were deducted for each minute late.
If people’s scores are different than what they thought, it is probably
because they didn’t add them up correctly. Mostly, people ended up better
off than what they originally figured.
