Results of the 6/6/2001 Ec-O at Campbell Creek Science Center Bill Spencer led the orienteers around the "ECO" orienteering event held in Far North Bicentennial Park with starts and finish at the Campbell Creek Science Center. This event was different than others because runners not only had to use navigational skills to get through the terrain and vegetation but were tested on natural history knowledge about the local ecology. The long course, or "Eco Challenge", featured 13 controls and 22 multiple choice questions. The short course, or "Eco Lite", had 9 controls and 14 questions. A correct answer to a question resulted in a 30 second deduction from the overall time, so knowledge was worth something.
